Funding Expanding Ministries Now and Later

In a stewardship sermon a bold preacher observed to the congregation: I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. The good news is that our church has all the money we need for our ministries budget and building fund. The bad news is that it’s still in our pockets and bank accounts.

Many good articles on raising money in uncertain times are available. One example is The Duke Endowment Issues Journal Winter 2003, titled “Doing More With Less” offered sanguine articles and advice. However, insights do not resolve tight budgets. How do church leaders inspire members to generous giving in a jittery economy?

In the tough times we need to focus on the basics: leadership, vision, discipleship servant hood, mission. Lead by example; love one another; proclaim a “step-up” faith.

Church members who clearly understand themselves as God’s people give wholeheartedly. This is basic. Wiltshire & Company can help you nurture the right spirit for project work and manage stewardship program details for numerous initiatives.

The Wiltshire & Company Family Grows

Jacob Wiltshire joined Wiltshire & Company’s full-time staff in July after working as an assistant consultant with Robert for several months.

The father and son team conducted a feasibility study in Mathews, VA, in the spring.

Both Wiltshires are now working to improve the company’s services and accessibility for current, former and future clients.

One Company, Two Offices, Associates as Needed

We’re here to serve, with Wiltshires and offices in Woodfin and Carrboro. Jacob is following the family business model and running his office out of his home.

In addition, we are fortunate to have colleagues to enlist as needed. Mary Thom Adams, Ed Brenegar and Joseph Kilpatrick round out our extended Wiltshire & Company family.
